Dianella or flax lilly is one of these. Dianella's come in a range of colours and sizes and have blue flowers, some even have edible berries.
Liriope is another popular grass, again with a wide range of cultivars, they tend to be larger plants so position them towards the rear of the verge.
Patersonia or Native Iris refers to a number of different species that resemble the iris. The flowers open and close with the sun and are one of my favourite wild flowers. P occidentalis is the one in the image and is from the south west of Australia and can tolerate frost and dry conditions.
